Internet Exchange Point Firm Extreme IX Adds Seven New PoPs To Address Data Demand

Extreme IX, an Internet exchange point for Indian ISPs said it has expanded its presence in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai by adding seven new points of presence (PoPs) to address the growth in data demand posed by the Covid pandemic.

The IX is now available in GPX Mumbai 1, GPX Mumbai 2, Netmagic DC in Chandivali and Vikhroli, Webwerks & Sify in Rabale, CtrlS in Mahape and Cyquator in Vashi followed by STT in Prabhadevi, and independent PoPs in Chembur, Sion, and Thane.

With this expansion, Extreme IX is now present in 20 locations in India and plans to expand its presence in more than 30 locations in India by the end of the year 2020. It currently operates in Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata apart from Mumbai.
