The news that Airbus has begun its deliveries of H225M for Republic Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has excited interest among members of the analyst community.

Analyst, Aerospace, Defense and Security at GlobalData Mathew George, Ph.D. says: “Airbus has handed over the first H225M helicopter to the RSAF, which is evident that the programme has not been adversely affected by the COVID-19 and the production at Airbus has almost resumed to comfortable levels. This programme reflects Singapore’s long tradition of selecting robust, reliable and efficient platforms from global suppliers to ensure that its defense forces have equipment they can easily rely on and maintain without the trouble of spares.

“For Singapore, Airbus providing these helicopters without a significant delay will help its long term security planning and assist in its steps to upgrade and update its existing fleet. The 16 H225M is expected to replace the AS332 in service and provide Singapore with a reliable workhorse to conduct search and rescue, aeromedical evacuation, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.”
