Telxius Partners Ciena To Provide Managed Spectrum On Marea, Dunant Transatlantic Submarine Cables
Neutral telecom infrastructure operator Telxius on Wednesday partnered with networking systems and service company Ciena to power two transatlantic submarine cables, Marea and Dunant, and to provide managed spectrum service with Ciena’s Spectrum Sharing submarine network infrastructure.
Marea and Dunant both offer low-latency and high-capacity cable routes globally. Further, Telxius recently added Dunant to its transatlantic portfolio, along with Marea.
Directly connecting Ashburn, Richmond, and Virginia Beach in the US to Paris, Madrid, and Dario (Bilbao) in Europe, these two systems provide access to dense data center areas and key connectivity hubs. Telxius said it will be using Ciena’s GeoMesh Extreme submarine networking solution, which includes Ciena’s 6500 Reconfigurable Line System integrated C&L-band for scalable terrestrial backhaul, and WaveLogic 5 Extreme coherent optics, among others
