Eutelsat’s 9° East position has been selected by Zeonbud to distribute its content in Ukraine.
Zeonbud is the nationwide Digital Terrestrial Television operator transmitting Ukraine’s 33 major channels. It reaches approximately 40 per cent of the population and covers 95 per cent of the territory.
The long-term contract signed with Eutelsat will see the operator leverage the EUTELSAT 9B satellite over Ukraine to feed its DTT network, and potentially extend its offer to a DTH service beyond the reach of its existing tower infrastructure.
Eutelsat’s Chief Commercial Officer Philippe Oliva said: “We are excited to welcome Zeonbud with its high-quality content offer as part of our line-up on EUTELSAT 9B, further consolidating our position in the dynamic Ukrainian Broadcast market.”
Zeonbud’s Chief Executive Officer, Irina Alyabyeva added: “We are delighted to partner with Eutelsat and leverage the 9° East position to ensure the best quality of service delivery of our of national channels to our viewers, and access the optionality of extending our reach through alternative distribution models.”
