stc announced that communications network movement had exceeded unprecedented peak hours during the stc Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which was hosted in Jeddah over three days. Across the event area, the internet traffic increased by more than 740 per cent and the internet circuit’s voice by more than 800 per cent.

This was the result of the high turnout of the public attending the event and international roaming guests from abroad, who set record numbers with an increase in the number at rush hour by more than 370 per cent. The number of visitors attending the race from Europe, the Americas, China, Korea, Japan and the Gulf states reached 67 per cent. The network was expanded at the event area with additional capacities of more than 275 per cent to the original setting, including special extensions for the fifth-generation networks.

From the other side, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of stc Group, Prince Mohammad Bin Khalid Al Abdullah Al-Faisal Al Saud, extended his congratulations to HRH the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense -may God protects them- on the occasion of the successful hosting of the Formula 1 stc Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

H.R.H also thanked the Minister of Sports and H.R.H Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) H.R.H Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal on the success of the Formula 1 event.

Olayan Mohammed Al Wetaid extended his congratulations to HRH the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense -may God protects them-. He said: “We are proud of this achievement that the Kingdom has accomplished, and the great success that the Formula 1 stc Saudi Arabian Grand Prix had seen, and we are proud of the role we have played in enabling this event with advanced digital technologies.”
