The Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has reappointed Jürgen Rigterink to his current role as First Vice President, head of Client Services Group, and extended his tenure to 2 July 2025.
Mr Rigterink took up the role when he joined the EBRD in 2018 and has since helped deliver record levels of investment volume for the EBRD regions and led the Bank’s Covid-19 Solidarity Package.
He was also the Bank’s Acting President for four months in 2020 in the period between the departure of the EBRD’s sixth President, Sir Suma Chakrabarti and the arrival of his successor, Odile Renaud-Basso.
Ms Renaud-Basso said: “Jürgen has been at the forefront of increased focus on quality over investment volume, and of many initiatives at the Bank to improve the ways we work and communicate, showing leadership, commitment and empathy.”
Rigterink said: “I would like to thank our Board of Directors for the trust they have placed in me, and my exceptional colleagues for their continuing commitment to delivering our mission. I’m truly excited to build upon the outstanding results we have achieved together and look forward to delivering even more in the years ahead.”
