PGA of America has promoted Kevin J. Scott to be the Association’s first-ever chief technology officer, according to a news release.

Scott previously served as the PGA’s Head of Technology and led the design and launch of the PGA’s consumer digital products – PGA.com and PGA Coach.

The company said he transformed the company’s technology and digital units into one organization of top engineers, designers, and product managers. He also led the design and build of e-commerce and customer support of PGA Professionals, the Ryder Cup and PGA championship events.

“Kevin Scott successfully steered the PGA through a technology transformation over the last five years,” PGA of America CEO, Seth Waugh said in the release. “He will now lead us in deepening our understanding of the PGA Member through technology, providing a scale of services to our 41 PGA Sections, increasing the value of our Championships, connecting consumers to our PGA Professionals and supporting the modernization of our PGA Professional career development.”

A 1997 Electrical Engineering graduate of the University of Arizona, Scott previously was Vice President of Product Management and UX for WorkplaceDynamics in Philadelphia. He also spent four years at ESPN as Senior Director of Mobile Products and Innovation & Advanced Products.

“It is a tremendous honor to serve as the first Chief Technology Officer of the PGA of America,” Scott said in the release. “The PGA has an outstanding Technology organization that uses continuous improvement, customer focus and product thinking to elevate the Association to new heights.”

In 2020, PGA of America announced it was relocating its headquarters to Frisco from Florida.

The PGA Frisco is a US$520 million mixed-use development, including the headquarters. The development also has dual 18-hole golf courses, bringing six televised golf championships to Frisco over the next 12 years.

While people are currently officing out of the PGA of America headquarters, it doesn’t officially open until August 22.
