 IIC Brussels Chapter Event – 360° To Focus On Proposed Regulation On Prevention & Combating Child Sexual Abuse Material

The International Institute of Communications(IIC) will return to  Brussels, Belgium, next week for the IIC Brussels Chapter meeting – 360 on the Proposed Regulation on Prevention and Combating Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), to be hosted by McDermott Will & Emery on Tuesday, March 28. 

The above rests on a heads-up we obtained  from the Director-General of IIC, Lynn Robinson.  In addition to the unveiling of the  panelists for the in-person event.

According to Robinson, the meeting will discuss the developments and next steps towards the adoption of the Proposed Regulation, including the most recent positions of the co-legislators (the European Parliament and the Council), key considerations regarding the interplay with the ePrivacy Directive, proportionality and effectiveness of detection orders, involvement of the AI (including with regards to the detection of the so-called ‘grooming’), and selected questions relating to the practical implementation, such as the age verification, encryption standards, as well as the overall scope of the Proposed Regulation (including challenges related to voice messaging and live communications).
