This year, the Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is commencing review of its 2019 ESP and AIP with the aim to have updated versions prepared and published in 2024.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Environmental and Social Policy (ESP) and Access to Information Policy (AIP) set the Bank’s commitments to promoting environmentally sound and sustainable development and information disclosure based on the principles of Transparency, Accountability, Good Governance, and Client Responsibility to affected stakeholders. To ensure that our policies remain current, that they reflect new and emerging contexts in the Bank’s country of operations, that they consider emerging best practices, and incorporate lessons learned, the Bank periodically reviews the ESP and AIP, at least every five (5) years.
Cyber Era NG learns that the ESP update will occur in three phases:
- Setting policy review objectives: January – March 2023
- Drafting the revised policies: April – October 2023
- Finalizing the policies: November 2023 – March 2024
- Implementing revised policies: January 2025
