Malaysian wholesale 5G provider Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) is deploying solutions from Ericsson to boost its network security.
The vendor noted that this marks the first deployment of the Ericsson Security Manager (ESM) solution in Malaysia, and claimed that the solution will boost security operations productivity by providing automated security management with security orchestration, posture management, threat management and certificate management.
The platform provides security visibility and automates security processes in both the 5G RAN and core network.
Chief Information Security Officer at DNB, Alex Ooi said: “Building a secure 5G network requires a holistic approach through security standardisation, development, deployment, and operations. With ESM automating the security processes and compliance, users of the 5G network will have the assurance that cyber threats are being efficiently monitored and managed, allowing them to leverage the benefits of 5G.
Head of Security Solutions, Business Area Technologies and New Businesses at Ericsson, Keijo Mononen added: “As the dependency on digitalised services grows, cybersecurity is a critical success factor. ESM allows DNB to gain full visibility and control of the security in 5G.”
