The Washington Post has announced the hiring of Vineet Khosla as Chief Technology Officer. In this executive leadership role, Vineet will serve as a senior advisor to the CEO and will lead The Post’s engineering team and innovation strategy, helping to drive the company’s overall vision for its technology goals. He will join The Post on July 31, and he will relocate to the nation’s capital from Silicon Valley.
“We are in a rapidly changing media environment and are thrilled to welcome Vineet to The Post at this critical moment,” said Patty Stonesifer, The Post’s interim CEO. “His extensive background in technology, including artificial intelligence, machine learning and cloud computing, makes him an excellent fit to lead The Post through our next phase of innovation. Vineet’s hiring solidifies The Post’s commitment to invest in new technologies that best serve our audiences. His career centers on building technology products backed by research and precise design; a specific skill set that will further establish The Post as a destination for readers daily.”

Khosla noted that he has been a long-time digital subscriber to the Washington Post, and has admired it as a reader. He also noted that he joins an organization that is already technically sophisticated. “I’ve always been impressed by The Post’s storytelling and its creative use of graphics,” he noted. Khosla noted that reporters and engineers at The Post appear to have a strong relationship upon which he hopes to build. He also noted that having access to The Post’s owner, Jeff Bezos, also drew him to the role.
