The Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) has announced that registrations are now open for the 2023 International Clinical Trials Symposium. The event will be held on the 27 – 29 November at the Park Hyat, Melbourne. The theme of the Symposium is Efficiency and Impact: Changing the Landscape in Clinical Trials.

Now in its 8th year, ACTA has successfully hosted four national and four international conferences. This year’s three-day symposium will again bring together influential and innovative leaders in the clinical trials sector and showcase the latest developments in research and innovation. It will feature an incredible line-up of sector-leading presenters from both Australia and across the globe. Some of the local and international speakers include:

– Commissioner Robert Califf, USA Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

– The Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas MP, Victorian Health Minister

– Prof Tony Lawler, Deputy Secretary of the Health Products Regula􀆟on Group

– Prof Lucy Chappell, Chief Scientific Adviser for the United Kingdom’s Department of Healthand Social Care (DHSC)

– Prof Andrew Wilson, Co-Director of the Menzies Centre for Health Policy and Economics, Co-Director of the NHMRC Australian Prevention Partnership Centre

– Dr Scot Berry, President and Senior Statistical Scientist, Berry Consultants

ACTA’s COO Dino Cercarelli said, “We are excited to bring together such a distinguished group of experts in clinical trials. The symposium will allow attendees to hear about the latest research and innovation in the sector and network with colleagues from around the world.

“This year’s symposium is exciting as it is the first time ACTA will place industry engagement at the forefront. The event represents a unique opportunity to engage with industry and academic partners and connect with key decision-makers.

“The opening day of the symposium will also allow the industry to network, exhibit their products and services, and form alliances within the clinical trials sector,” adds Mr Cercarelli.

ACTA is also delighted to announce that this yea’s Symposium’s Welcome Reception, to be held on the night of 27 November, will also feature the annual ACTA Trial of the Year Awards. This prestigious event will recognise and acknowledge outstanding clinical trials that have made a significant impact in Australia, providing an additional opportunity to celebrate excellence in the sector.

The Symposium registration is now open, and early bird pricing is available until 28 September 2023.
