Speedcast appoints James Feger as the company’s new chief technology officer, to improve its software-defined wide area networking solutions. Feger joins Speedcast from application security and multi-cloud management company F5, where he was senior vice president. He has also held technology leadership roles at CenturyLink.
Speedcast said Feger will help the company introduce a new architecture for its SIGMA network management platform. He has a background in deploying networks on a global scale,focusing on reliability and security.
“James’ experience in delivering carrier-grade solutions for demanding customer sets makes him a perfect fit for Speedcast,” Speedcast CEO Joe Spytek. “We’re also preparing to introduce a new advanced architecture for our SIGMA network management platform, where his experience with virtualization and complex network technology implementation will contribute to its success in the market.”’
Feger commented that he will help enhance Speedcast’s software-defined wide area networking solutions “This technology will be central to bringing together legacy satellite networking with the new world of LEO constellations and the wider telecommunication ecosystem, and Speedcast is poised to be that bridge to the future for our customers and partners,” he said.
