The cable division of Cenergy, Hellenic Cables has secured a contract to supply inter-array cables for the Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III offshore wind farms in Poland.
The cables will be integral in connecting the turbines at the two wind farms, which are being developed by a partnership between Equinor and Polenergia.
Hellenic Cables has been selected by Seaway7, a key subcontractor for the projects.
It will oversee the design, manufacture, testing and supply of 205km of 66kV submarine inter-array cables and accompanying accessories.
Spanning areas of 122km² and 117km², respectively, the Bałtyk II and III wind farms will be located 27km and 40km from the Polish coast in the south-western Baltic Sea.
They will operate in water depths from 20m to 45m.
Hellenic Cables will produce the submarine cables at its facility in Corinth, Greece, with delivery scheduled for the first half of 2026.

The developers Equinor and Polenergia began their cooperation on the wind farms back in 2018.
They have formed two joint venture entities, MFW Bałtyk II and MFW Bałtyk III, which they co-own.
The start of construction is contingent on the necessary permits and is scheduled for 2026–27, with initial power delivery to the grid projected for 2027.
The two wind farms will generate 1.44GW, enough to supply electricity to two million households.
