US-based freelance marketplace GoLance has hired Brian Childress as CTO.
Childress has more than 15 years of technical product and software development experience, having worked for Capital One, WealthForge, Calendly and ByDesign.
“Throughout his career, his focus has been on building simple, scalable solutions for application security and developer productivity,” said GoLance, announcing the appointment.
“Most solutions have required access to highly sensitive information in regulated environments. Most recently, this included using cloud-native architecture in JavaScript, Python and Go.”
Childress also works on product development with early-stage startups in his role as a mentor at TechStars.

Founded in 2014, GoLance, based in Dover, Delaware, connects clients with virtual assistants, designers, software developers, project managers, writers and other freelancers.
Its services include the GoLance marketplace, where clients search online for freelancers, and remote talent staffing, which provides “concierge-level staff augmentation” for highly specialized top talent. It also provides managed development, MVP (minimal viable product) development, AI development and full-time staffing services, in addition to a development program for startups.
The company recently added client and freelancer reports to provide a comprehensive view of project progress and performance metrics, enhanced project dashboards to manage and update projects more easily and a service manager that lets freelancers showcase their portfolios to potential clients, including the ability to post videos of themselves answering typical interview questions.https://aimgroup.com
