The notorious ransomware group, LockBit has allegedly infiltrated the systems of Allied Telesis, Inc., a leading American telecommunication equipment supplier. The group claims to have accessed sensitive information, although these assertions remain unverified.
The alleged breach, dated May 27, 2024, involves the exfiltration of confidential data, including project details dating back to 2005, passport information, and product specifications. LockBit purportedly shared blueprints, passport details, and confidential agreements to demonstrate their access and has issued a deadline of June 3, 2024, for fully releasing the compromised data if their demands are unmet.
Allied Telesis has yet to confirm or deny the cyberattack. The Cyber Express has sought clarification from the company, but no official statement has been made, leaving the authenticity of the breach in question.
The timing of the alleged attack coincides with significant changes within Allied Telesis, including the relocation of its China branch and the re-appointment of Jon Wilner as Vice President of Customer Success. These developments may be related to the breach, although no direct connection has been established.
Amidst these allegations, Allied Telesis continues to advance its strategic initiatives.
