GameChanger Academy Unveils $1.85M In Scholarships To Produce Victoria’s Next Film & Game Industry Leaders

In collaboration with VicScreen and the Victorian Government, CG Spectrum’s GameChanger Academy is providing Victorian students with $1.85 million worth of scholarships. These scholarships aim to empower aspiring creatives statewide by providing access to quality education and industry mentorship, helping them launch successful careers in film, animation, VFX, and game development.

“This initiative will ensure that Victoria has a strong and continuous source of job-ready graduates to service the digital screen sector and ensure Victoria remains a leading destination for cutting-edge screen production, ” stated Minister for Creative Industries, Collin Brooks.

Applications are now open for two distinct scholarship opportunities.

Good To Great Scholarships

Designed for recent graduates and junior talent, this immersive program prepares students for the industry by replicating the pace, projects, and practices of real studios in either a simulated studio environment or within partnering studios. Students must engage in critical processes such as rounds, dailies, client briefs, and feedback sessions—key elements of the daily operations within top film and game studios. Included in the programme is 50 hours of one-on-one mentoring.

By the completion, participants will have gained valuable experience working within a studio environment, developed their networking skills, and built a strong portfolio—empowering them to step confidently into industry.

Excellence, Diversity, And Equity Bachelor Scholarships

These accredited Bachelor-level scholarships recognise outstanding talent, elevate diverse voices, and support equitable access to quality film and games education. Scholarship holders will have the opportunity to learn the tools and techniques of their chosen discipline from the ground up and prepare for the industry over a two-year period.

Along with practical training to build their technical and creative skillset, students will also develop vital theoretical and interpersonal skills and build an understanding of industry expectations and processes. They’ll also receive industry-specific career support and graduate with a polished portfolio, so they’re ready to hit the ground running upon graduation.
