Turkcell and Huawei have implemented end-to-end Segment Routing IPv6 (SRv6) between Avrupa Datacenter and Ankara Datacenter, two of Turkcell’s four major data centers.
The partners successfully transported test traffic between the two locations, achieving SRv6 service implementation on a live network. The solution uses the latest Net5.5G technologies to drive qualified network management, ensure efficient network operations, fulfill SLA commitments, and boost competitiveness by providing the best user experience.
Turkcell, a world-leading comprehensive telecom carrier, provides high-quality fixed and mobile communication services for more than 43 million subscribers in Türkiye. The operator’s network traffic has increased significantly year-on-year and will continue to do so with the emergence of 5G, 4K/8K Video, cloud computing, and digital services. In turn, the evolution of innovative technologies must rapidly advance to cope with the challenges that arise from emerging technologies.
What is SRv6?
SRv6 is an SR technology based on the IPv6 forwarding plane. Combining the source routing advantages of SR coupled with the simplicity and extensibility of IPv6, SRv6 offers a number of unique advantages. These can be summarized as native IP, intelligence, and ultra-simplification.
