Active Directory (AD) is the backbone of companies’ information system security. It handles all vital user data, including identities, credentials, access rights, and administrator privileges.
Today, Active Directory systems are the target of 70 per cent of all cyberattacks, with nearly 100 million AD accounts being targeted daily. The consequences of an Active Directory compromise can be devastating for an organization: data theft, data corruption, operational disruptions, and more. The average cost of an AD attack is estimated at 17 million euros.
For these reasons, Board of Cyber has developed AD Rating: an automated SaaS solution for CISOs and CIOs who want to continuously assess, manage, and enhance the security level of their organization’s Active Directory. It helps identify key deviations from security best practices and anticipate issues that could jeopardize the overall security of the company.
The solution provides a high-level, continuous view of Active Directory compromise risks. The rating considers the risk level associated with each identified defect – defined by experts and adjusted based on the state of the art – as well as the number of affected assets and the number of detected deviations.
The assessment covers over 160 checkpoints, grouped into 11 analysis categories (domain controllers, privileged account management, etc.). AD Rating uses the PingCastle tool for measurements, enriched with a Board of Cyber-developed rating engine.
Continuous management and improvement are facilitated by clear, detailed observations and associated recommendations. Management is centralized on a multi-company dashboard, which includes historical ratings and detailed summary reports.
