The EBRD Participating At COP 28

By Cyber Era NG Special Correspondent

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is participating in this year’s 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP28, demonstrating its leading role among multilateral development banks (MDBs) as a pioneer in the delivery of climate finance. The event will take place between November 30  and December 12, 2023.

This year’s event will focus on fast-tracking energy transition, fixing climate finance and protecting nature, people, lives and livelihoods.

EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, First Vice President Jürgen Rigterink, Managing Director Climate Strategy and Delivery Harry Boyd-Carpenter and Managing Director, Sustainable Infrastructure Group Nandita Parshad,  are among EBRD figures expected to attend the event.

This conference is key to delivering enhanced ambition on climate action.

The EBRD has committed to increase the proportion of its green investments to at least 50 per cent of the total by 2025 and has already aligned all its operations with the goals of the Paris Agreement earlier this year.
