The Fort Wayne, Indiana-based freight brokerage bolstered its executive team with the appointments of Chief Technology Officer Cody Harris and VP of National Sales Steve Schroeder.
Circle Logistics promoted from within for key technology and sales leadership roles in recent months as part of an overall effort to elevate its customer experience and strengthen client relationships.
The Fort Wayne, Indiana-based freight brokerage promoted Data Strategy and Innovations Manager Cody Harris to chief technology officer, it announced in late October. VP of sales and operations for nearly a decade, Steve Schroeder has been elevated to a newly created role of VP of national sales, the company said last month.
Harris’ expertise with artificial intelligence will help the company integrate the technology to optimize operations, streamline processes and find ways to enhance value to customers, the company said in a press release.
“Cody brings to this role a tech ideology deeply rooted in innovation with a purpose,” CEO Eric Fortmeyer said in a statement. “He firmly believes that technology should not only add value but also improve the lives of workers, carriers, and customers alike.”
Schroeder’s experience in the logistics industry will guide the company in identifying customer pain points and offer solutions to elevate customer experiences, he said.
“In a rapidly evolving logistics industry where technology and data are king, Steve reminds us that human connections are just as valuable,” said Fortmeyer.
Harris began working for Circle Logistics as a data scientist in September 2021, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also worked as an associate instructor at Indiana University-Bloomington from August 2020 to May 2021 and was a software product manager at iRely from July 2015 to September 2018.
Schroeder started with Circle Logistics in May 2014, according to his LinkedIn profile. His more than three decades of experience includes serving as principal at LoMas Transportation, general manager for Concert Group Logistics and carrier manager for Penske Logistics.
Schroeder also served as a logistics analyst, inventory control and senior parts analyst for Whirlpool Corp.
