The breach, disclosed on August 7, follows an earlier detection of suspicious activity on June 27, 2024, involving unauthorized tax returns filed using the firm’s tax software.

According to the notice, the breach allowed an unauthorized party to access confidential information, including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account numbers.
