ITS Congratulates Dr. Daron Acemoglu, Joint Winner Of The 2024 Nobel Prize In Economics

There is an American saying (coined by Elbert Hubbard over a century ago) that when “life gives you lemons, make lemonade”.
ITS heeded this advice shortly after the COVID pandemic triggered a precipitous decline in the global demand for and supply of in-person conferences during the first two years of this decade.
Starting in late 2020, ITS launched a series of webinars in place of our temporarily sidelined in-person events. These online events continue to this day and (thus far) number 23 in all. They feature leading academics and practitioners in the fields of law and economics, regulation and public policy, and, more generally, ICT and AI.
Headlining its June 4, 2024 webinar (which also happened to be its second most heavily attended online event ever) was MIT Institute Professor of Economics…and, as of October 14, 2024, the winner of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Economics (along with two others, Dr. Daron Acemoglu).
“On behalf of our entire membership of academics, students, social scientists, regulators, and business and corporate professionals, we extend our sincerest congratulations to Dr. Acemoglu and his two co-winners for their lifetime of achievement and well-deserved honours and recognition therefor,” said ITS in its congratulatory message.
