By Jonathan Easton

Vodafone will offer its new TV subscribers free access to sports streamer DAZN for six months in Germany and Italy.

The announcement builds on DAZN’s recent launch on Vodafone’s platforms in Germany and as the Bundesliga begins to build momentum for the 2020/21 season.

For Germany, the operator said that new TV customers who subscribe to Giga TV Cable or Horizon TV offers through to November 2 will be entitled to the benefit for six months, after which point it will cost €11.99(US$14.08) per month. GigaTV Cable and HorizonTV start at €9.99 per month for the first six months, after which point they go up to €14.99 per month.

Meanwhile in Italy, Vodafone Italia customers who sign up to the €20 per month TV Sport Plus and €10 per month Sports & Entertainment packs in conjunction with Vodafone FTTH, FTTC and ADSL plans will get DAZN for free for 6 months.

The offer marks the latest step of Vodafone and DAZN’s partnership, with the pair set to combine again in other markets.

Announcing the German deal, DAZN chief subscription officer Ben King said: “In Vodafone, we have found a partner who shares our vision for providing instant and frictionless access to the best live sport… This is the first of many consumer-centric collaborations being discussed between the two companies across Europe.”
