For the second time in a week, Apple saw a major services outage.
According to the iPhone maker’s own system status page, 25 Apple services saw an outage. This included productivity services like iCloud and Find My, along with flagship entertainment products Apple Music and Apple TV+ and the App Store.
According to a number of reports, outages were first experienced at around 8pm EST on Tuesday, September 29 and lasted for three hours.
The company’s services experienced a similar outage – albeit apparently of a smaller scale – on September 22, when it was confirmed that Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Channels and the App Store were unavailable.
Both issues were resolved in short order, but this is seemingly becoming a trend for a company that is increasingly looking to build its business around services.
Apple recently announced the launch of its Apple One services bundle. Coming in multiple forms, the basic package combines access to Apple Music, Apple TV+, game service Apple Arcade and 50GB of iCloud storage for US$14.95 per month, with a more expensive offering adding in access to Apple News and newly launched exercise service Apple Fitness for US$29.95 per month.
Speaking at a web streamed event, director of services, Lori Malm explained that “Apple One give you and your family all the services you love from one subscription.” https://www.digitaltveurope.com
