Globally renown intrapreneur, technology and cyber enthusiast and top-notch events director, Naveen Bharadwaj will chair Cyber Africa Summit(CyFrica2020) taking place between 25th and 26th February, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, south west, Nigeria. Bharadwaj arrived the country February 24 and told Cyber Era he is poised for another great event.
Bharadwaj earlier led the Africa Cyber Defence Summit (Cyfence Africa) in Nairobi, in 2018 believed to be one of the largest continental cyber security gathering with over 1,300 senior stakeholders from 51 countries hosted by the Government of Kenya and enjoyed the endorsement of the country’s President.
CyFrica 2020 will bring together over 300 pre-qualified CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, CEOs, senior information security, risk, forensics, compliance, cyber law and law enforcement professionals. The exclusive summit on cyber security will focus on the current state of cybercrime in Nigeria, the effects of cybercrime, latest fraud and breach prevention techniques and will also showcase some of the latest technologies that help combat cybercrime.
The 2 day event will bridge the gap between the leading security solution providers and security professionals by bringing them onto the same pedestal as well as provide a variety of learning formats like Keynote presentations, panel discussions, fireside chats and exclusive networking sessions that will lead to meaningful business connections throughout Africa.
Here is the reason CyFrica 2020 is a must attend: A recent report estimated the loss to African businesses from cybercrime at US$3.5 billion, up from US$2 billion. Nigeria was the hardest hit with losses of US$649 million, followed by Kenya with US$210 million and Tanzania with US$99 million. As organizations continue to digitally transform, so does their exposure to threats within cyberspace. Organizations need to leverage ever-improving capabilities with advanced technologies to efficiently combat cybercrime.
