Leading communication service provider Tanla Platforms has roped in Aravind Viswanathan as its chief financial officer after his two decade stint at Wipro.

“Tanla has a huge headspace to capture in the global CPaaS (communication-platform-as-a-service) industry and that’s what we are going to prioritise. We may be a leader in India but the business is nowhere close to maturity,” he told ET in an exclusive interaction.

He added that Tanla has a low capex and high operating leverage model which enables it to generate good cash.

“There is a lot of room to invest in expanding the business. Mergers and acquisitions are definitely on the cards. We will identify the whitespaces and make appropriate investments time and again for healthy cash management,” he said.

The tech industry veteran has served as Senior Vice President and CFO – iDEAS Global Business Line at Wipro Limited and handled crucial roles across business finance, treasury, investor relations, financial planning and analysis, and audit.

He candidly recalled his starting days when Wipro was the same size as Tanla is today and said that his evolution in the tech space will come handy in making the company a global brand.
