Orange France has launched its new Wi-Fi 6 repeater mesh network product.
The consumer Wi-Fi solution is powered by software company SoftAtHome’s Wifi’ON, and is available at Orange stores in the country. It is backwards compatible with the two latest generations of Livebox and promises to provide users with 160MHz capabilities.
SoftAtHome said that Wifi’ON provides users with a smart Wi-Fi network that improves in-home connectivity thanks to smart extenders, better channel selection, increased performance through steering and Wi-Fi 6.
Orange France’s Broadband Device and Services Marketing Director Laurent Feurer said, “With our new repeater, our installed base of many millions of households is effortlessly upgradeable to Wi-Fi 6. Thanks to SoftAtHome’s smart Wifi’ON technology, the device seamlessly extends the wireless network either using an ethernet cable or the Wi-Fi itself with very simple self-installation.”
CEO of SoftAtHome, David Viret-Lange said: “During Covid lockdowns, end-users spend more time at home, and a better Quality of Service is needed for gaming, working and TV services. Wifi’ON provides a distributed intelligent network between the Livebox, repeaters, STBs that leverages the latest device features while remaining backwards compatible with older devices.”
