Nilesat Selects ATEME For Two Projects

By Jonathan Easton

Video delivery solutions provider ATEME has been selected by MENA operator Nilesat for its TITAN Live platform for two projects.

TITAN Live is ATEME’s software-based encoding solution which promises to deliver high video quality at minimum bitrates.

Nilesat will first deploy ATEME TITAN Live for a new fiber link between the operator and Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC). This will allow EMPC to transfer content much faster than with the previous traditional SDI networks.

The second contract will see TITAN Live selected to enable Nilesat to expand its current video processing infrastructure for the Egyptian (ENMA) channels. Nilesat said that this technology will allow ENMA to increase its footprint internationally.

Nilesat CTO, Hamdy Mounir said: “As we embarked on these projects ATEME’s offering really stood out from the competition. Its TITAN Live solution is not only capable of helping us achieve our current requirements, but it will also enable us to expand our infrastructure as we continue to increase our service offering.”

Regional Sales Director, ATEME, Mohamed Razik Zaghlouli added: “Being chosen as the unique vendor for these two projects is testimony to our innovative technology solutions and cements our status as a leader in video delivery technology. As one of the leading MENA satellite solutions providers, our work with Nilesat further strengthens our position in the region and we look forward to continuing to expand our relationships in this area and globally.”
