By DTVE Reporter

Boise, Idaho-based hybrid TV platform Evoca TV, which is planning a wider rollout of its service across the US, has chosen OTT technology provider Vewd’s Vewd OpX system to power its content and user experience.

Vewd OpX has been integrated into Evoca’s Scout receiver and delivers linear, on-demand, apps and other functionality.

Evoca uses Next Gen TV – also known as ATSC 3.0 – to provide its service, which includes a lineup of high-definition broadcast programming and popular video-on-demand programming and apps, for around US$50 per month.

The Evoca TV service is currently available in Idaho and Arizona.

Vewd OpX supports functionality including access to regional broadcast and OTT apps and a catalogue of OTT content, analytics to support audience targeting and insights, and other cloud services such as performance measurement and device management, as well as delivering customization options, integration with service delivery platforms and set-top box middleware and deployment on multiple OS and chipsets, enabling operators to deploy on current boxes as well as streaming dongles and Smart TVs, according to the company.

“Vewd’s unique expertise in this space, coupled with deep content relationships, ensures we can deliver the high-quality experience our customers want. With Vewd OpX we can delight our customers with a modern experience and offer popular on-demand content at an unbeatable price point,” said President and CEO of Evoca, Todd Achilles,.

“We are excited to partner with Evoca on their mission to bring new competition and deliver the first ATSC 3.0-based pay TV service in the US. Vewd OpX gives Evoca a complete first screen solution managed entirely from the cloud that offers customers a seamless experience whether they’re watching OTT, linear or hybrid content. Despite cord-cutting pressures on traditional pay TV, Evoca underscores how efficiently combining linear and OTT provides tremendous value for end-users,” said VP of sales and business development at Vewd, Henrik Sten,.
