Sports broadcaster Eleven’s Taiwanese subsidiary Eleven Taiwan has teamed up with streaming platform Twitch ahead of the new Taiwan baseball season, to make its live match coverage more accessible.
Eleven Taiwan holds the rights to all home matches for the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) for the Rakuten Monkeys, Wei Chuan Dragons and Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions.
Games are provided to audiences on linear TV and via Eleven’s OTT service.
From the 2022 season, which starts on Sunday, all Eleven’s games will also be available to fans on Twitch, on a pay-per-view basis. A special free service for pre-season CPBL games is currently available on the platform.
Eleven Taiwan will also be introducing new original programming for the 2022 season, with shows it says are designed to bring fans closer to their teams and favourite players.
Eleven Group Taiwan managing director, Eric Teng said: “We are committed to making our offering of live local baseball as accessible to fans as possible, and our new agreement with Twitch will allow us to champion our games to younger fans in a new way. We’re excited to get going.”
