Orange Côte d’Ivoire has opened its Orange 5G Lab, dedicated to digital professionals, startups and businesses.
It was attended by Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Amadou Coulibaly Government Spokesperson, Ms. Christel Heydemann, CEO of the Orange Group, Jérôme Hénique, CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa, and CEO of Orange Ivory Coast, Mamadou Bamba.
With 5G network deployment in Côte d’Ivoire scheduled for 2023, Orange Côte d’Ivoire is thinking ahead by providing local businesses with a new, fully equipped collaborative space dedicated to practical applications.
Orange 5G Lab Abidjan offers services and support to economic players designed with expert partners such as Huawei, Nokia or ZTE.
Orange 5G Lab’s free and customized system is based on two concepts: Allowing economic actors to discover new possibilities enabled by 5G and how it could positively impact their activities.
With our 5G experts, supporting innovative companies eager to experiment with the potential of 5G for their product or service.
This site will host a 5G demo space for different business sectors, conferences, training, co-working sessions, co-innovation sessions, and practical 5G applications.
“We recognize that 5G is a new opportunity for companies wishing to diversify, optimize or revitalize their activity.
To support them, it is crucial that this space offers ready-to-use tools and allows the results of these experiments to be evaluated in a practical way.
This initiative reflects our historical commitment to digital inclusion.

CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA) Jérôme Hénique explains: “Like the Orange Digital Center inaugurated last year, the Orange 5G Lab will enable faster adoption of this technology by local businesses.
Not only will they be able to benefit from the expertise and tools available here in Abidjan, but they will also have access to feedback from over 1,500 companies and local authorities that have had access to an Orange 5G lab around the world, including 127 that have already been able to establish evidence based on their own practical examples”.
