MásMóvil-owned Galician cable operator R, part of the Euskaltel Group of northern Spanish service providers, has launched a new Total TV package that includes LaLiga Smartbank, Spain’s second division football league.
The addition of the Total TV offering to R’s line-up of TV services will enable its subscribers to follow the fortunes of C.D.Lugo, the local side from the city of Lugo in central Galicia. The launch coincides with C.D.Lugo’s home match against C.D.Mirandés this Sunday.
MásMóvil said that the inclusion of LaLiga Smartbank in the Total TV package was in line with R’s goal of building the value of its entertainment offering over time. The ability to offer LaLiga Smartbank comes from the Agile TV service, which MásMóvil deployed on its network across Spain prior to its acquisition of the Euskaltel Group, using technology from Huawei. It adds to a sports line-up that already includes first division LaLiga Santander from an agreement with sports streamer DAZN, along with other football competions including the Premier League, UWCL, Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, FA Cup and MLS as well as motorsports, basketball and boxing.
“Football’s LaLiga Smartbank, which includes C.D.Lugo, reinforces the drive by R to provide high-quality varied sports content through our new TV offering. The idea is to continue to work along these lines to compete with the main offering in the market, always being responsive to the interests and desires of our customers,” said CEO of R, Alfredo Ramos.https://www.digitaltveurope.com
