Sydney-based fintech DataMesh Group has appointed Devesh Maheshwari as the company’s new CTO as it implements its cutting-edge payments technology with merchants across Australia and APAC.
With over 16 years of delivery and technology experience in multiple domains across the world, Devesh will be leading the company’s technology strategy and overseeing data analytics, performance, omnichannel experiences and vendor management of infrastructure, cybersecurity and end-user computing services.
Mr. Maheshwari joins DataMesh Group from a successful four-year stint at Tyro Payments, where he led their banking and payments technology and delivery strategy as Head of Technology.
“I resonate with DataMesh’s belief that financial processes shouldn’t get in the way of the merchant doing business and focusing on the customer experience in-store & online. I am thrilled to be part of this exciting global growth journey of the DataMesh Group, where we are stepping out of start-up mode and into scale-up mode,” said Devesh on joining DataMesh Group.
DataMesh CEO, Mark Nagy said of the appointment, “I’m excited to have Devesh onboard to excel the payment solutions we can offer our clients. His experience in scaling up organisations will be important to the company in 2023 as we ramp up our footprint in international markets.”
“He shares my value in fostering an inclusive culture of development and innovation which will continue to make our organisation one of the best places to work.”
Maheshwari has successfully led technology teams in architecture, digital applications, integration, data & analytics and PMO, but now sees strong opportunities present in the financial payments space.
“The sheer opportunity of what we can achieve in the payments space excites me. The pandemic really accelerated the shift to a cashless society and now consumers expect technology to facilitate this. The rising role of payments as more than simply an exchange of value for goods and services has created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the payments industry to lead the way in financial services.”
The appointment follows a bumper 2022 for the Sydney-based payment fintech after developing a cutting edge crypto payment technology for retail giant, Peregrine Group and partnered with Novatti (ASX: NOV) to provide its merchant with a suite of payment solutions.
