Digital Opportunities In Mongolia Targetted As IIC Regulators Roundtable Nears

The International Institute of Communications(IIC) is almost set to welcome attendees to its Regulators’ Roundtable, holding July 5-7 in Mongolia.
According to the Director-General of IIC, Ms Lynn Robinson, there is not long time left for interested attendees to register for the rare opportunity for IIC members and wider community to visit Mongolia, a country with extraordinary history, culture and physical beauty – as well as a liberalised and competitive telecommunications market and one which is working hard to build digital readiness and skills to shape the future growth of its developing digital economy.
Cyber Era NG learns that at the Regulators Roundtable attendees will share their objectives and priorities in the digital era:
- Closing the digital divide – what more can regulators do to drive access and affordability for all?
- Consumer protection in the digital world
- New tools – regulatory sandboxes, smart regulation, regulatory collaboration & cooperation
- How do regulators best support and drive innovation?
The Forum on July 6 discussion will focus on:
*Investing in national & international connectivity; spectrum decision-making for networks of the future
*Competition in digital markets – policy and regulatory approaches to digital markets, platforms, and services
*Data governance – privacy, data protection, localization, and cross border data flows
*Content – fostering a vibrant media & cultural environment with enhanced, locally-relevant, content services
Friday 7 July is an all day cultural event for delegates to network while enjoying the region:
Delegates will be taken on a memorable journey through Mongolian culture and traditions, visiting Terelj National Park, exloring the impressive Genghis Khan Statue and experiencing various cultural activities that showcase Mongolian traditions, heritage and music.
