Adam Maschek  has joined the Germany-headquartered re-commerce site Momox as the new chief technical officer (CTO). He replaces Marco Trettin, who held the position for ten years.

According to the company, Maschek will be responsible for all technological decisions and future investments in the IT sector. One of his priorities will be investing in new technologies, particularly in AI capabilities that enhance customer satisfaction.

“We need to be able to respond quickly to technological changes and provide new features that our customers want. We are very pleased that we were able to convince Adam to support us in this task with his wealth of experience,” said CEO Heiner Kroke.

Before joining Momox, Maschek worked for 12 years at online furniture retailer Westwing, seven of those as the company’s CTO.

“Many of the challenges we face at Momox are very similar to those at Westwing. I know patterns that work, but I have also seen many things that were not successful. I want to bring this experience to the teams to show them different ways and solutions,” he said.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Berlin, Momox currently employs more than 2,100 people at three locations and operates in Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Spain and Italy. Since its launch, over 350 million items have been purchased and resold across its country-specific websites.
