Accenture’s new ransomware report reveals key challenges in executing an effective communications plan. Managing director of global cyber response, Robert Boyce discusses why existing recovery strategies aren’t enough and offers practical steps for managing a ransomware response.
One limiting factor for organizations in a disruptive event such as a ransomware attack is that they do not understand their end-to-end value chain, Boyce says.
When businesses rely on traditional business continuity plans, he says, they are only able “to see the relative reports within one business unit at a time, and these events are causing disruption across the entire value chain of an organization.”
