Techmint Co-Founder Anshuman Kumar Resigns, Launches Relationship Solutions Startup ‘Dunlop’

Teachmint’s CTO and Co-founder, Anshuman Kumar announced his departure from the edtech business last month to focus on his new endeavor, Duolop. On April 7, Kumar announced on LinkedIn that he would be embarking on a new role as the founder of Duolop, a unique Indian software that reduces the complications of managing a relationship for both married and unmarried couples.
Teachmint was founded in 2020 by Kumar, Mihir Gupta, Payoj Jain, and Divyansh Bordia with the goal of supporting teachers and schools in digitising their classrooms. Lightspeed India, Rocketship.vc, and Better Capital have all invested in the startup.
Duolop, according to Kumar, is an application developed to help married and unmarried couples manage their relationships. The software includes a private chat tool that allows couples to communicate messages, photos, and videos to one another while also supporting them in date planning. The software is presently available on Google Play and will be accessible on the Apple software Store soon.
After Co-founder and CTO Anshuman Kumar left to focus on his new venture, Duolop, Teachmint’s spokesman revealed that the edtech startup has appointed new leadership to continue growing their scalable tech stack. Teachmint is transitioning from B2C to B2B and struggles to scale its business in the face of mounting losses. The firm is supported by notable investors such as Lightspeed India, Rocketship.vc, and Better Capital, and it has lately begun delivering tools to help schools digitise.
Teachmint’s net loss increased from Rs 5.52 Cr(US$ 67,399,200) in FY21 to Rs 131.70 Cr in FY22, and the company discontinued it’s arm Teachmore and dismissed off staff. Anshuman Kumar’s departure from the CTO job comes at a time when many Indian digital businesses, including Zomato, Nykaa, and Swiggy, have had prominent executives quit.
