WAHO Webinar To X-ray Response-activity Of ECOWAS Countries

In light of the current coronavirus pandemic, the need for collaboration in tackling outbreaks is greater assuming greater momentum, the West African Health Organisation(WAHO) is organizing a webinar part of the upcoming webinar which will explain how WAHO is supporting member states build capacity in response to the pandemic.

DG of the Burkina Faso-based  WAHO Prof Stanley Okolo will deliver the keynote on the theme: Fighting COVID-19 in West Africa: Considering the social, economic, financial and human security impact. The webinar holds May 13, 2020 – 10:00 AM WAT I 01:00 PM GST

He will be joined by partners in public and private sectors who will each share an insight into how they are working collaboratively to fight COVID-19 in West Africa through public-private cooperation while considering the social, economic, financial and human security impact.

Invited speakers include, but are not limited to the followings:

  • Deputy Minister of Health, Ghana, Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye
  • Commissioner for Health, Lagos State,  Prof. Akinola Abayomi and 
  • President, West Africa Healthcare Federation, Clare Omatseye who will Moderate the event.

West African Health Organisation (WAHO) was founded in July 1987 by the heads of states of the West African Region to achieve the highest possible standard and protection of health for the people in the sub-region.
